Endurance Karting

Qualifying – Gil.
32nd on the grid with a time of 53.4sec, slower than practice. Could not get heat in the tyres. Gil very disappointed with time.

Race – Eric started.
Seeing as we where already near the back of the grid Eric decided he would drop back to last to get out of the mayhem (so he says), this proved to be a very good call, a few incidents happened and he would have been in the middle of it if he stayed in his starting position. Race started dry and after an hour started to rain, changed to wets after it was impossible to continue on slicks. Times improved and started to make up places. Chris was exceptional in the wet considering it was his first drive. All 3 drivers were doing consistent times and made up several places managing to get a high as 17th at one stage. Gil finished the race in drying conditions with the wets well and truly ’stuffed’ but it was decided to finish rather than come in and change to slicks. A couple of places dropped in the closing stages to faster finishing teams.

Summary:
Kart went really well, tyre pressures for wets was good, pressure for slicks was too low, have to improve on qualifying but this will come as the team gains more experience, very pleasing result considering 2 of the drivers have little and no experience driving karts.
