Endurance Karting

Endurance Karting from the perspective of Team Canberra

Round 7 – Newcastle

Posted by admin On December - 16 - 2008

7 Hour

Finally a race without incident!
Qualified: 17th
Result: 4th in B grade, 10th overall

The longest race of the year is always tough on driver and kart but due to an exceptional prep job on the kart by Eric and the added bonus of a new brake system it was an incident free race for Team Canberra. After having several rounds this year go horribly wrong towards the end of the race it was a fantastic result for the team who seemed to have nothing but bad luck up to now.

Gil started and struggled for grip and subsequently dropped several positions, he then settled and was putting in some consistent times all be it at the back of the pack. Gil had problems coming to grips with the new brakes while Eric had no trouble at all and this showed in his consistent lap times. Gil and Chris were both off the pace and had some trouble getting used to the brakes as well as complaining about kart setup not being to their liking. It could also be said that it is not the kart but driver ability
