Well, its the day after the AGM and fun day at Picton Kart Track and I got to say it was fantastic. The AGM saw the 2008 committee stand down and a new committee voted in. It was great to see nominations for all positions and a big general committee voted in so congrats to Steve as our President, Brian as our Vice President, Karen as Treasurer and Adrian as Secretary. Without these people and the rest of the committee we racers would not get a chance to compete and have the fun that we do and the meetings.
The social karting after the meeting was again great fun with various teams breaking in new karts and some dusting off their old karts for the first time since Oran Park last year. We also had a bunch of new drivers doing their license testing and getting out for their first outing with TEKA. A big welcome to all the new drivers, we look forward to seeing you through the year and don’t forget if you need a hand with kart set up, parts or just about anything, just come up and ask.
Eastern creek is only 20 days away as I write this so not much time to get the karts ready. It looks like it will be about a 4.5 hour race or maybe 350 laps so not a bad length to start the season. Be there early and ready with all your paperwork so we can get the race underway on time. Being just a 1 day event we will travel up from Canberra on the day so if we can finish on time we get home at a half decent hour
